SOA FRANCE

Katey, Charlie and I did press in Paris last March. As I blogged at the time, we had a great day. M6, the French network who bought the show, were very enthusiastic and embraced the show. Season one premiered there this month and it was their most successful premier in four years. Below are some of the publicity shots and press from season one. Katey and I are hoping they want to do some follow up press this fall (read: we'd like a free trip).  Merci beaucoup.

Here's the M6, SOA website.   http://www.groupem6.fr/soa/

Holy Moly - it really does have a weird kind of Frenchness, doesn't it?! (What's the word for Frenchness?)

the french have good taste.......(except for their interest in jerry lewis)......they liked rourke when he was out of favor.....and they make Gr8 films.....and french girls taste good too.....I don't know if any of you have seen "irreversible" or "I stand alone" but I recommend them....and at the risk of being criticized I'll also say I liked both the book and the movie "Baise Moi"....

but euro bike gangs just don't quite pull it off....so they definitely need a dose of instruction through an SOA filter...though I would like to see what say ....an h.a. affiliate from Iceland would be like

Awesome. It's good to see that SoA love is not just a U.S. thing.

G7, What a crackup. My daughters live for NCIS, and they say Ziva is a ninja. If you don't know, NCIS is a standard cop show set in the Navy. Ziva is a female Mossad agent on loan. Tonight she held off a super-soldier with 'Roid Rage.

This is the one Israeli character on U.S. TV, I think - so this is our picture of Israel?

"Sons of Anarchy" has plots and twists that translate to every culture and language-
I hope you, Katey, and the rest of the cast get guest visits to many countries!

G7 - Just meant one of the things we lack in our massive TV offerings is real internat'l flavor. Wish HBO had done In Treatment set in Israel, where it came from.

Very nice...

I wish that one day a network from my country (Portugal) do exactly the same.

Unfortunately Sons of Anarchy it's almost unknown here in Portugal, but we are fighting against that and our efforts have been rewarded.

We have a blog (http://sonsofanarchypt.blogspot.com/) and ouR twitter (http://twitter.com/sonsofanarchypt) account allows us to "spread the word" and helps us to promote the show among the portuguese tv shows viewers.

Now I can say that there are some good Sons of Anarchy fans here and we're pround of our "job".

I hope you can help us, Kurt... please tell the american FOX to make some pressure to the portuguese FOX!

WE WANT SOA IN PORTUGAL!!!

Greetings from Lisbon ;)

Glad to see Juice escaped with his virtue - I really wasn't expected that. But where was the Oz staple, a guy thrown naked into solitary?? I WAS expecting that homage.Jax'nude step out of the shower takes on new irony, now that I know about your love of Oz, and we do appreciate your tip of the hat to us straight girls watching a show that features a lot of T&A, but we need still more balance. Surely you have nudity requirements in ALL contracts? S3 - one new booty per week, please. You can save the full frontal for the DVD.

p.s. Sad and disturbing episode, with very nice moments between Gemma and Tristan, Gemma and Elliot. The look on Jax' face just before he gets hit; father and son both sticking the knife in Stahl; Clay's always interesting approach to Stahl with a combo of respect for her beauty and the inherent objectification that carries; Clay's inexplicable surprise that Stahl knows his business; Jax ability to successfully sell himself as a sweet gay boy; his need for Stahl to know he's not unqualified for the top job; Gemma and Tara's bizarro wall of solidarity; and the list is really too long to continue.

Sorry for long-assed-ness.

Watched the episode last night and just wanted to tell you that I think the show's writing is now on par with Milch and Simon and I dont think that's being hyperbolic. The acting last night, especially Jax, was brilliant. Congratulations and thank you to your producers, writers and actors.

I am not surprised at all at the popularity of this show in other countries. This show is art! You can always translate true art from language to language. Even your CAST choices are world known. I watch on FX, and the show is so good, I feel like I am stealing from you since I don't pay extra for it.

To air the show in France is THE BEST move the network M6 has ever done!
I haven't been this fascinated by a show in forever. To be honest, at first, Charlie Hunnam drew me to the show because of Green Street Hooligans. I LOVE his acting. But really it's the AMAZING QUALITY of the show that kept me coming. The cast, the acting, the writing and the directing is top-notch!

I find myself wanting to know more about the 1%MCs (gonna start reading 'Under and Alone' from William Queen).
My dad's a biker and I also got him hooked on the show.

Eventually I just want to say THANK YOU Kurt and all your crew for creating such a master-piece and for sharing it with us. Keep the seasons comming!
And know that you have SOME LOVING from over the pond!!!

Amira,a dedicated French fan.

@ Outsider: Dude, I promise you that no one gives a crap about Jerry Lewis. I barely know him and most of familly/friends have never even heard of him. I don't know where this come from but it's a myth.

I heard about SOA from an american friend last year. he said it was a fucking amazing show, that it was a really long time since he saw such quality in both writing and acting but I didn't check it out. and about 3 weeks ago, i was nursing a massive hangover and just being bored when i had the good idea to watch m6! and i gotta say i loved SOA, though i prefer to watch it in english ( it always feels more real ). I should have listened to my friend last year because I'm now craving my weekly shot of soa! Anyways french tv is all about your series right now so I think you're definitely gonna be jetted off to france to do some promo! gotta love the free trip and tourism!
Hope you and the actors ( what a great cast by the way! ) will continue to deliver such a good show.
Bests from France!

ps what's up with that jerry lewis myth, outsider?

It's nice to read a whole blog post about how my country welcomed your show. :) Though there would be a looooot to say about the french networks' behavior towards (US) TV shows... *sigh*

Season 3 started being aired last friday (september 16, 2011...). I don't know at what time the show is scheduled in the US, but here, in France, it starts at midnight, with 2 episodes every friday night, it ends between 1:30 and 2:00am... That's pretty late and that's a shame because I'm quite sure the show would be a bigger success if it was scheduled a bit earlier... :/
