PREMIER DATE

HALF-WAY MARK

201 is complete. 202, 203, 204 are picture locked, waiting for post tweaks, re-shoots and final mix. I'm in post on 205. We've finished filming episode 206. 207 will begin prep. I've finished writing 208. Drafts of 209 and 210 are being written. 211 and 212 are being outlined. And 213 is in my head. Shit happens so fast, man. Once the cameras start rolling, it's a precision, well-oiled death ride. Get on, or get crushed. It's an exercise in one-day-at-a-time. Focusing on what's in front of you and not getting overwhelmed by the enormity of the task. The recession is blowing back on the entertainment industry in a big way. The financial heat from the studio has been brutal. They wanted to cut our budgets by ten percent. The network defended the show, letting them know that if they cut 1% from our budget, there is no show. We have no fat; we are the independent film model of television -- 7-day shoots, guerrilla film-making. My cast, my crew, myself -- we all work well below our quotes because we dig the project. It is truly a labor of love. I am very excited about season two. The new promos should be hitting the air soon. That's it for now. More to come. * Thanks to my assistant Cori Uchida and our writer's PA, John Barcheski for all the great photos.
