Congratulations on completing a kick ass first season! Love this show and hope you will be at your computer soon to write season 2. I've been hooked since the first ep and I've worn out the On Demand feature from my cable provider. Now I'm sorry I never watched The Shield. I'll be looking for your work more closely in the future.

That's just all kinds of anarchy-filled goodness going on.

Love it.

And thanks for not killing Opie ;)

Hi Kurt,

I’m writing just to tell you how much I enjoyed the first season of SOA. I really liked its take on biker culture, removed from both the romanticized depictions of the old biker exploitation movies and Hunter Thompson’s somehow sensationalist Hell’s Angels. At the same time, I think SOA still retains the edge of what I think are more genuine representations of the biker lifestyle, such as the ones you could get from the old Outlaw Biker mag.

Speaking of accurate representations of bikers, have you ever read J.J. Solari’s short stories? They used to appear in Outlaw Biker and were usually very funny. He has a new collection of stories out called “When Bikers Meet Humans” that I believe you might enjoy.

One other think I especially appreciate about the series is that the SOA are not just a motorcycle club with a cool name, but an organization founded – albeit hijacked by Clay – on genuine principles. Although I am not an anarchist myself, I like how John Teller’s journal seems to be inspired by the thought of people like Bakunin and Kropotkin. I’m sure you did a lot of research for your series, but were you aware that this country has a rich, homegrown anarchistic tradition? There’s a very good book on the subject called Men Against the State by James J. Martin and it deals with several obscure (at least to me) episodes of our history, including early experiments in building anarchic communities in Indiana and the work of abolitionist anarchists.

Anyway, I hope the series keeps going on strong. The show really seems like a labor of love for all involved and even apparently small details like the soundtrack (I loved how you picked a song by one of my favorite singers, Jesse Dayton, for one of the episodes) are proof of the hard work that must go behind the scenes.

Take care and good luck with the second season.

Love the collage!! Sorry I can't see them up close. I remember seeing the huge billboard in Times Square back in August...it was awesome! I wanted to take it home...

Thanks again for an unforgettable season one. I so look forward to what you have in store for us next season.

Thanks for the pics! It's so great to see behind the scenes. Speaking of...can I put in a plug for behind the scenes footage in the DVD. I always love seeing that sort of thing as well as outtakes and/or deleted scenes. I just can't get enough of this show! Can't wait for season 2.

Best of luck to you and your family! Thanks for the great entertainment.
